Dr. Li Pengde is Co-Chair of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).
He’s also the former President and the current Secretary General of the Regional Committee of United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UN-GGIM-AP).
Other credits include:
- A Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems for Cadastral Applications from the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences (ITC), the Netherlands
- A PhD in Geographic Information Systems from Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping
- He has worked at different technical and management positions in the provincial and national surveying, mapping and geoinformation agencies for more than 30 years
- Co-Chair of the Programme Board, Group on Earth Observations (GEO).
