After graduating from the Addis Abeba University with a BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering in Oct. 1976, I attended Cranfield University in England and graduated with MSc degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering. Between 2003 and 2007 I attended the Cranfield University Executive Program in Defence Management and graduated with a Master of Defence Administration (MDA) Degree.
Prior to my appointment in 2008 to my current position of Director General of the Ethiopian Mapping Agency, I have served in a number of senior government positions including the position of Vice Minister 2003 – 2005) and State Minister (2005 – 2008) of the Ministry of National Defence of FDRE.
I am the current Chairman of the Executive Board UN-GGIM: Africa.
